Well, SAR41WY, it was a good effort. If one could find a wrecked LC with the non-integrated climate controls, that would make this conversion much cheaper.

Just got back home tonight. Headed to Salt Lake City on Monday. Appointment was for Tuesday morning. Had a bad snow snow storm coming in Monday afternoon. Wife does not not like driving in blizzards. So I ended up hooking up the Ford Ranger onto my tow bar and towed it up Monday afternoon. Figured it was better to fight the fresh snow and slush than wait till early next morning and fight the ice. Had to be in SLC by 9:00 AM. Would have to leave by 6:30 or 7:00 and knew there would be black ice. Not best conditions for towing. Have to say the LX did great. No problem going thru 5-6" of slush over Parleys Summit on the way to SLC. Fords weight is about 4000 lbs and I barley even knew it was back there. But I do have a Brake Buddy installed in the Ford to assist with braking when towing. Very impressed with the LX's Handling.

Car Concepts got started on it right away Tuesday morning. They had the Vais SL2I instock so deceided to go with all of it. Had the Ultimate Lockpick 1, Vais Sirius intergrated, remote start, installed 2-way radio for Search & Rescue and hard wired power for my Garmin Nuvi 760. So it ended up taking all day to get all of this done. Left no time for Clear Bra application. Spent another night and had the Clear Bra put on this morning. Went with the premium package, front bumper, lights, complete hood, mirrors and complete fenders all the way to the doors. Looks great.

Lockpick worked great. Full access to bluetooth phone book and all other features. The names even show up in the one touch dial now when in motion. DVD in motion works. Only problem I had was when they installed the remote start, I had told him to use the Valet key, he didn't. he used one of my master keys. About $200 difference in cost to me. Had to have him change that after the Clear Bra was done. Was ready to get on the road and didn't check it out after that. Noticed when I got home that the Automatic I agree screen and the Destination feature was not working right. Bluetooth still working. Will look into it some more tomorrow. Too tired to look into it tonight, Hopefully I was just doing something wrong. It was working before he went back in and changed the key on the remote start.

Also picked up the 8.1 nav update, new DVD-DL burner and new Roxio software while there. Will try to make a hybrid disc with the 5.1 and 8.1 over the next few days and see how that goes.

Got back in time for Daughter and Grandson to come over, he had been itching all day, He knew we had gotten him something special, it was driving him crazy. He is Junior Varisity football and lettered with the varisity team his first year as a junior varisity. So we got him his lettermans jacket. So excited, I think he will sleep in it tonight. That's what it's all about!!

Will let you know what I find out and if the hybrid disc works.

so a bump from the dead, im a regular member in the 2nd gen gs and the SC/LS sections but never been in here before so i did research some threads before i figured i would ask as the keyword search in here isnt as user friendly as in my group

i thought i had the answer here in post # 3 but it didnt get the details i wanted to know

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lx4...-dash-nav.html

had a local friend call me and was asking about converting a factory nav equipped 2002 LX470 model to a double din but wants to get rid of the integrated climate controls as he hates them.....

now i know on the 2nd gen gs you can remove the OEM nav and put a non nav climate control in there and it will plug and play, can you do this with the 2002 LX470

It's not plug and play. We have a project under way to tackle this issue. It's not trivial.

Default Garmin 7 inch screen

I just put a Garmin RV 760 LMT in place of my 2002 SC 430 navigation. It is a huge upgrade. It took a lot of time but now I've figured it out completely. It fits perfectly and looks like it belongs. The door still opens and closes and will tilt when I finally find another tilt module which was toast years ago.
