Auto headlights

Auto headlights
I've driven Lexus vehicles for almost 20 years, so I'm familiar with the auto headlight feature. However, I've only had my LS460 for a little over a month and noticed something strange today. When I drove into my garage during the day, the auto headlights turned on (as it's a little dark in the garage). I did what I always do - turn off the engine, get out of the car, close the door and go into the house (don't lock the car). When I came out an hour later, the headlights were still on. The red security light on the door by the handle was solid (not flashing). I tried turning the light off manually, by locking the car from the remote, but they stayed on. I had to open the car and turn off the lights from the stalk.
I've seen a couple of similar posts on this forum but no resolution. Am I doing something wrong or is there an issue I need to get checked out?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks caha. Yes, I remember seeing this now (memory is not what it used to be)! I shall play with the door switch. Anybody know if this would cause the red security light to be lit solid?
Edit: Just tried messing with the door switches. They don't appear to be malfunctioning right now. What I did notice is that if a window or sunroof is open and I lock the car, the red security light is solid. If I try to lock the car with a door open, it won't lock.

Well, there was a bad ground on the doorjamb switch (unscrewing it, the dome light was going on and off with every revolution of the screw). I screwed it back in and out a couple of times and the light stayed on. There is no excess wire in the doorjamb so it will be a b_tch to unplug the old light socket from the connector, should I need to do that (I think I'll have to remove the B pillar trim to get at it). Hopefully the paint or corrosion is worn off now and the ground will be good. Don't know if this will solve the auto headlight problem but, fingers crossed!
Don't know about you guys but I haven't had a faulty doorjamb switch since the 1960s. Is this for real???

Speak of the devil. The same thing happened to me the past few nights. It happened last night so I did a search this morning and found people were having a problem with their door switch jam. So I made a appt with my local dealer for tomorrow morning. I really hope they will fix the problem without making me trying to duplicate the problem.
