Removing cats 93 LS400
Ok so a while back I had some serious issues with my LS and sent it to Lexus of Shreveport to get it fixed, it was a issue with the ignition and I needed recommended 90k maintenance anyway I know the cats were glowing hot one day after I drove it and I'm pretty sure it melted the cats down and ruined them, I smell gas in my exhaust and my powers down a lot even after the repair. What issues would I have on a 93 with removing the cats? is there a test tube kit? Do I need a O2 faker? In return for your assistance I will try my best to get my boss to let me run my car on the dyno at our shop and post some dyno sheets for a 17 year old car!

man I suck at search, I found one guy with a 90 but that's a series one so I guessed it was different... I promise to do a good tutorial if I get the info needed! It seems that all the answers are randomly buried in threads, If I do a project from a answer I got I find it easiest to just do a write up as a thank you to the forum.

ahhh kay, thought there was significant changes between the 90-92 and 93-94, I guess I understand so its kinda like 4th gen Camaros... LT-1 and LS-1 Camaros are radically different but still called 4th gens...

'95 heralded the series 2 LS, UCF2x chassis, which ran from 95-00. the 98-00 were technically the UCF20 Post Minor Change cars, not a whole different series (technically).

Good well those cats are coming off! hopefully I will get good results, I'm hoping for 150-175 on the chassis dyno (our dyno reads on the low side)!! Will post dyno results and chart if my boss allows!

uggg, cats are off, damn things are hell to get off, takes a impact to loosen the nuts off the header studs, anyway i had to pull 3 studs (one i had to drill out because it kept snapping off) you have to heat those things cherry red to get them off uggg it was evil, re threaded 3 of the other studs and used bolts for the other 3 and now I have a small exhaust leak o joy! but other than that they are off and man it runs nice now!
