Default Seatbelt Chime

Does anyone know how to disable the seat belt chime or reduce the number of beeps? I went to Lexus and they said the seat belt chime was not under the personalized options so they couldn't change it.

Bull! Any Lexus Dealership should be able to change it for you at no charge -- or tell them you'll take ALL your service needs elsewhere!

I'll try taking it somewhere esle. I remember seeing a Personalized Settings PDF that had the seat belt chime listed. The one I have in my car doesn't list the seatbelt chime. Maybe they changed something in the 2008 models?

The LPS option is called the Seat Belt Reminder, as shown above. There are two tone options, an initial 5-tone reminder, and a longer 16-tone reminder. The LPS option is the longer one, which I believe targets families or old folks, that's why it is longer. Some posters have been able to have the dealer turn both off altogether. I had my short reminder left on.

Print this list above, and show it to them. It is also printed at the back of your "Quick Guide".

They can definitely do it. They probably just weren't aware that they could.
