Spacers And Extended Studs Help.
#2
Hello everybody, I am currently in the process of mounting my rims (Redrilled 7 Series Style 95's) on my LS but encountered a problem as the rim would not clear the front calipers, the rear have no problem at all but I will need to install extended studs on all 4 hubs to give me more tread to put on my lug nuts. The question is, if I put spacers in the front should I put them in the back as well to avoid having that front wheel looking wider than the rear or getting a thinner spacer for the front so it really has no impact on the look and running none on the back? Any ideas and help is welcomed

Depends on how much clearance you need. I had to do the same thing when I put SC430 wheels on my LS400. I ran 15mm in the front and 25mm in the rear (for looks only). Hub centric is what you want. Ebay has a lot of them. Spacers DO affect alignment. The camber and toe will be different with a spacer on. Just a good rule to have a laser alignment done with new wheels and spacers. Also, if you do push the fronts out a little the rears will look more sunken in. Something to consider.

19x9 +24
backspace: 6"
frontspace: 4"
19x10 +24
backspace: 6.5"
frontspace: 4.5"
so the rears will already stick out .5" more than the fronts,
so if you slap on a spacer that is less than .5" (12.7mm)
you should be good. how much space do you need up front? like are minimum to clear the calipers
also, 12mm (or less) spacers might not need you to have extended studs, you might have enough hub left to use slip ons.

Thinking about it I'll probably go 12mm spacer in the front and maybe a 15mm or 20mm in the rear.

Do get your alignment checked and remember that using spacers can be hard on the wheel bearings since the centerline of the load is offset now by the thickness of the spacer. I don't know if anyone has had issues with the LS430 wheel bearings but I've had premature bearing failure in past cars when using spacers. Also make sure you have enough thread on the studs to fully engage the nuts. It can't be only 1/2 or 3/4 threaded. It can't manage the load if not fully threaded on.
