Default Urgent help needed, injen intake install

Hi guys,
I just received my injen intake today to install on my 2006 LS430.

After reading the instructions I thought it was simple. Although the instructions are specified for the 2001-2003 model. But some users here claimed to have previously installed it on 2004 and 2005. Maybe 2006 is different? I highly doubt it.

I started by taking off the old air box and air vent.

I placed the Injen into the head of the throttle body.

My problems started with plugging the hoses.

I CANNOT SEEM TO FIND THE OBD CANISTER.

I think that is the main problem. If I find the OBD Canister things will fall in place. I looked and looked everywhere but no luck. I couldn't find it.

I have attached the documented instructions and also some pics of what has been going on.

You'll find my troubles starting from the first steps of the directions. And #2 on the page where it is written down.

All help is appreciated.

Thank you!

After taking a look at some SC430 installs in their forum. I found some people saying that their cars don't have OBD canisters, and they just clogged it. And the other small hose just plugged into the bottom nipple of the intake.
Someone please confirm.

Kira X, where are you? =)

If you don't have anymore vacuum hoses disconnected then just plug the nipple on the intake. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks. I would probably do a soft reset and disconnect the negative for 30 seconds since you added the intake.

I wen ahead and left the OBD nipple open. Installed the rest as the way it was explained.
I started the car praying that everything was right... Suddenly a beast was unleashed!

I got it to work, and it sounds so gooood..:thumb up:

Thanks for the help.

I'll be posting some stuff about it tomorrow.

Don't leave the nipple open. It will suck dirty unfiltered air into your engine. Especially if it is pre-MAF. Plug it.

I'm sure it has a nice little growl. Personally, I bet you gained a little high end HP and lost some low end torque.

Is there any difference in performance at all? How much louder is this CAI compared to a stock air box?

There's not any difference in performance. Only looks and sound. Same with the LS400. In fact, on the ls400 forum it was shown to slow the car down. That's why nobody sells them. Well, you know what I mean. It needs a tune to work properly.

Let's hear what you think king911.

Hi guys,
I have been meaning to get some pictures and all that. But it just has been too cold over here. Never above the 36 mark.

The car is way different. The whole charisma of the car has changed. I can also feel the car to be quicker than what it used to be.
Transmission seems to be smoother with all the sound coming out of that V8 monsters throat.

It is really worth trying. To the point that I was actually scared that I had it installed wrong!
The sound is so huge, and it comes from under the hood, which is just super.

For me, I think this is the best mod you can ever get on the LS430.

I will hopefully get the chance to take some pictures and some videos doing 0-60.

Whatever you end up deciding, just get it!

All luck. And thanks for your help guys, as always.

Is this the best intake for a 2006 LS430? I would think that it would state that is was compatible for an 06...

If I were to get an intake I would probably get one from these guys. Give them a call as 2006 may be different but they told me these fit the 01 - 05 LS430. Just the heat shield needs to be modified.
