Key fob internal swap?
Hi, new guy here. I am about to sell 1 of my LS400's and I had purchased a brand new key and it came with a new key with button and new transmitter set from Toyota. Id like to have keyless entry but on my other car. Is it possible to take the internals from the new key and put them with the other cars key and make it work? I would also be using the new transmitter in the other car.

Simple answer is no. Unless you change out the transceiver in the car, because if that was ordered for a certain VIN number that is what it is meant to work on. And it would be the most dumbest thing to do, to change out the transceiver systems because then when you take the VIN to the dealer for a key it would be for the wrong car.
So if you want a key for the other car just go buy it like you did this one. The dealer will never make a key for a vin of a car you just sold or no longer have. You have to prove its your car.
