Used Key Fobs: Can they be reprogrammed?

just wondering, can used key fobs be reprogrammed into another lexus?

The fobs don't get programmed, the car has to be programmed to recognize them. That requires a factory scan tool. Before buying one, you might want to check the dealer to see what they would charge for programming.

I programmed a third key to my car but my friend/tech got me a new key under warranty and turned in my used one as defective.

If the key has been programmed before, all your keys will have to be reprogrammed. This process more labour intensive than purchasing a new key in which only that new key needs to be programmed.
