90-94 LS400 owners, aftermarket headunit questions...
...I already did a couple of searches found some relevant info, but not a direct answer.
I have a double din aftermarket radio I want to put into my 92 LS400. I have a factory Nakamichi currently. The unit works great, no burnt lights or LCD, but I want something with MP3 capability and audio tape. I got this nice Clarion here.

Question #1
Will the 87-Toyota Scosche adapter work for Nakamichi systems?
Question #2
The LX3 metal faceplate kit on autotoys.com, does it only work for SINGLE din units or does it/or can be modified to fit DOUBLE din headunits like this one here?
Question #3
The factory metal bracket that holds the AC unit and can be made to fit the aftermarket headunit, will it also accomodate Double Din or does it have to be modified (new holes drilled)?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

I done quite a bit of research on issue and found answers.
The Best Kits brand model LX3 is an all-METAL kit designed for single din units. The faceplate is metal, so this won't work for me. Too sturdy to cut.

Instead of buying this kit from SFX audio, you can buy it from here for only $29.99 vs. $49.99.

The Metra brand kit is all plastic. This is also made for single din units, but the faceplate and set-up can be manipulated to fit double-dins. It does have a pocket in it so if you're going double din, you'll have to cut out the pocket. These kits run for about $20.

Third option is to go custom.
I'm going to order the Metra kit and put it under my Dremel.
