Default Reduce engine noises & shocks: 2000 LS

I bought a second-hand 2000LS 2 years ago. I took that for servicing each 5000km(not using Lexus dealer).

It has been running quietly and smoothly untill recently. More noises(when it was idle or when the car is accelarating) and more shocks(very slight but can be felt) from the engine are felt from the interior of the car.

What things that I could do to reduce the noise and shock?

The car mechanic(non-dealer) told me that it might be due to the aging of the rubber insulation.

any ideas? thanks.

yup. Engine mount is where I would look at first.

On my GS400, i had vibration and I could hear the engine from the inside of my car. Idle was around 750RPM.

After I got new engine mounts, the car idled at around 500RPM and it was so quiet and smooth at idle that your passenger(s) would think u forgot to turn on the ignition

It's one of the best things you can do to an older car to make it feel like new again.

I would say that its your engine mounts, or tranny mount.
In my case/ 1998 LS400 with 94k miles/ I got the car with a broken tranny mount, and the vibrations were felt from 50-90 mph in any gear. I changed the tranny mount which was broken and that helped a lot.
I know ,y engine mounts are bad as well. I can feel the motor at idle when in DRIVE. Will fix that as soon as I can.

Tbilisi79, are you in the NYC area? If so, can you recommend an independant service mechanic? Preferably, someone who is knowledgeable in late model ls like 2000. Thanx.
