How to have headlights automatically turn on when you unlock car?
I noticed my friend's bmw 3 series's headlights turn on automatically when he unlocks the car. is there any way i can do it with my IS ?

Is it his full headlights, or just the halos that come on? I know the halos (both stock on newer Bimmers and aftermarket ones) can be wired to come on(tapped into interior lights) when the car is unlocked with the key or the fob.

our 3IS will only have the DRLs on. which i think may actually be good for the longevity of the xenons. But for those with LED headlights, no issues then.

update: ths daytime running lights seem to turn on when i leave the lights on 'auto'. Will these lights turn off automatically (after timing out)? Or will they stay on even if i lock my car? Just don't want to risk coming back to the parking lot with a dead battery....

Play with your setting preferences on your car through the computer screen.
You can set up all the configurations, and even take your car to the dealer, they can have your windows and sun roof open if you hold the unlock button.
