2007 IS350 1/8 mile time
I tried to search 1/8 mile times for our car but only 1/4 times come up. Has anyone ran on a 1/8 mile track?
.At Race Legal in San Diego, the 1st place runner in the Super Street (EVO 8) ran a 9.006 and the Street Stock 2nd place ran an 11.306.
I believe my car will fall into the Street Stock category and I've seen estimates of high 9's. I just haven't seen actual numbers. Race Legal has a race event on June 7th and I'm thinking about doing it. (Never drag raced, just street)
Suggestions?

i ran a 8.9 at the pursuit 2 w/ my IS350, and a year later could only muster 9.0's w/ R-compound tires.
a lot of other guys ran high 8.8's, and one even into 8.7's.
this was all at irwindale speedway's 1/8-mile drag strip.

(note: don't think there was a drag strip thread for the first Pursuit. at least i couldn't find it using the search function.)

I'm currently running Goodyear GT's (last minute emergency) on the rears and v12s on the front. I've had pretty good grip on the GT's but I don't really know how they'll hold up on the track. Should I burn the rubber/waterbox/go around it all? That's where I'm unsure of.

unless you're running drag radials or competition-specific tires, no need for a full NHRA-style burn-out. street tires have a lower optimal temperature rating than drag/competition tires, and doing a long burn-out on street tires will actually break down the vulcanized rubber on the tires faster and decrease tire grip.
