2006 IS250 - 120,000 Miles!
April 2, 2012 will by "Issy's" sixth birthday!!
My Lexus IS250 hit 120,000 miles a month ago and it still drives like a gem. I have not had any mechanical issues as yet and hoping it remains that way for a long time to come. However, the navigation touch screen stopped working about a year ago. Dealer said the its just the touch screen that stopped working, probably due to sun exposure (I live in South Florida), but the brains of the unit still works. Costs $1,565 to replace, have not done so as yet.
Anyone else hit this mileage mark? Any tips or suggestions??

Very nice! Glad to see it's running great at 120k.
As far as the Navigation Repair, there is a write up if you want to try it yourself...
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...n-fix-diy.html
And If your car is anything like MoLexus's car, it will last you past 250k....

I was reading about fixes for this earlier. I've never done any type of electrical work, ever! So I'd be afraid to open up my car trying to fix this. Perhaps I can find a mechanic who would do this for me...unless anyone lives in the South Florida area and has experience with this and would be willing to help me!

Same issue with the navi screen
I have the same proble. Where did they quote you 1500 for the screen replacement? I called Lexus dealer and they said a min of $200 to tell me what is wrong and $4k to replace. Everthing works on the screen except I cant touch it... doesnt recognize! Its sooo annoying.

I'm at 117k miles and doing a total suspension/brake rebuild. I just have a Injen SP intake I recently installed and the car already got more exciting (oh and disconnecting the car battery to reset the auto transmissions AI ECU to learn to my driving style). Here's my build. I had my engine pretty much rebuilt due to factory recall so that's why I decided go the extra mile with the suspension
-Fortune 500 coilovers with swift springs 14kg front/10kg rear and rear extenders
-Cusco front and rear sway bars
-Cusco front strut tower bar
-Invidia Q300 exhaust w/ mid pipes
-Tanabe Sustec Front 2 point front Under Brace
-F-Sport Rear Chassis Brace
-F-Sport Carbon Fiber Shift ****
-F-Sport Steering Damper
-12' IS-F Steering ECU
-SPC Front ball joints
-SPC Rear camber arms
-MOOG Inner/outter Tie Ends (and maybe lower ball joint not sure)
-FIGS Front Lower Arm Rear Mount #2 Polyurethane Bushing High Performance 90
-StopTech Street Performance brake pads x 4 (front/rear)
-StopTech SportStop slotted rotors x 4 (front/rear)
-StopTech Stainless Steal brake lines (front/rear)
I suggest you get the FIGS front lower arm rear mount #2 bushings, and a pair of sway bars. Most bang for the buck is Cusco. As far as new shocks/springs I chose Fortune Auto, they seem legit. I'll know in about 2 weeks when I receive my Cusco sways. I know sways do a lot because I switched out my stock rear sway for the IS-F rear sway for $20 and I noticed a big difference in body roll and overall control + less understeer.

2006 IS250 AWD update after 8 years
My 2006 Lexus hit 150,000 miles and she still feels like the day I got her. The only two problems that I had was the navigation screen failing at 70,000 miles and again at 105,000 miles. The second issue was that the engine was running too lean. I took it to Lexus, they provided me with a nice 2013 GS450H for the day.Beautiful car by the way but, it felt too large compared to the ride of my IS.
Both problems were resolved quickly and oh I keep the screen off when not in use and so far it hasn't died on me again.
I do not see many IS's in this color.
^trouble free miles
In the ice cold winter she performs great with the AWD system and Continental SuperSport DWS tires.
