going a bit crazy
I have already posted the main issue with my IS on here and a few people have managed to give me some advice. I figure I should just post some more on here to get some help to figure out the other issues that she is having. Ready?
2001 IS300 auto lsd
1: Does not go into gear. Revs fine idles fine no check engine light no codes. Upon putting the car in gear, either drive reverse or any other movement specific gear it does not move at all. If I put it in a movement gear i can get out and push the car as if it is in neutral.
2:The remote trunk release does not work, neither does the light inside the trunk. I have replaced the switch and the bulb and that has not helped at all.
I searched for this car for the better part of 2 years, I took a gamble on her and I am hoping that the community here can help me make what her what she deserves to be. Thank You

I understand what you mean but that would not allow the car to move at all. As i said I can roll the car in neutral. The transmission doesn't even have that initial shock when you put the car in gear.

Hmm... Do you think you could give me a quick walk through for pulling the trans? I am mechanically inclined but I just wanted to make sure I don't mess anything up or miss anything

Let's see...
Drain fluid
Pull driveshaft (disconnect at rear diff, drop center support bearing, then it slides out)
Disconnect shift linkage from shift lever, should be a 12 mm nut
Remove starter
Use access panel under engine to remove torque converter bolts, there are 6, should be 14mm
Disconnect three wiring harnesses, one small one, then two larger ones
Disconnect trans cooler lines on pass. Side
Put jack and block of wood under trans pan to support it and remove transmission mount
Remove bolts holding trans to motor... Variety of 14 and 17 if I recall, the hardest are the two at the top of the bell housing, will need some super long extensions to get to those...
Before the last bolt is off, make sure you have something underneath to catch as at this point, there will be nothing holding it in...
To reinstall, reverse process, first and most overlooked step is making sure the torque converter is fully seated into transmission all the way....

Thank you so much! In regards to the torque converter bolts, will it spin in neutral? Also, the coolant lines, will that end up draining the entire radiator on just the trans cooler?

you'll have to turn the engine with a 24mm socket (I think 24), and yes it will spin in any gear, though its best to put in neutral so you can turn the driveshaft while removing it...
the coolant lines aren't for coolant, they send trans fluid to the radiator... the trans cooler is integral to the radiator, but doesn't have anything to do with engine coolant... quite a bit will drain so be ready to catch it...

Thanks again for all the help! I just have 4 bell housing bolts left. Bad news though: I ended up snapping one of the cooler lines. I might just upgrade to steel braided but I am not sure what size to get. Any ideas?

Got the trans out last night around 1 am. Thanks again everyone. Just to be clear, a standard 6 an fitting will work right? As I said I am going to replace both lines from the side of the trans all the way to the new trans cooler that I am buying.

if you just need the lines, perhaps you can get generic Power steering hoses from autoparts store. cut them to the length you need and use clamps and clamp them to the existing hose that broke off.
if you have time on your side, then summitracing has the parts and pieces to build a nice steel braided hose set. Figure out what thread pattern is on the cooler, get the 6an hose, proper fittings to make a nice setup.
