Does anyone know, for the AWD drive model what the wheel power distribution is for front/back?
I'm sure its not 50/50. (The current BMW 2005 3 series is 38/62). Just wondering...

I read the same. So its not THAT bad having AWD on full-time. Most of the power is going to the rear during those hot summer months.

It has a ltd. slip planetary gear type center differential
which is set up 30% front 70% rear to give it a RWD character. If the back wheels start to lose traction then the power shifts forward up to 50% 50%.

This was one of the reasons I went with the new M35x.
That car is 100% rear wheel drive, until it detects a slip, and then it instantly shifts power to the front wheels in the amount needed- it could be 90/10, 80/20, etc etc up to 50/50.
I think this (combined with the increased HP/torque) is why the car drove better (in my opinion). It reminded me of my BMW more than any other car I drove. Of course, the GS is a great car, but when I looked at all the options for me, the M35x won.
Your mileage may vary.
