Default All wheel drive power distribution

Coming from a G35x AND G37x, I am confused about the AWD power distribution in the IS300 AWD.
As far as I understood, the G35/37xs were essentially rear wheel drive with four wheel traction as needed.

The IS300 AWD feels less like rear wheel drive to me. What is starting power distribution on a dry road?
Compared to the Gxs?

Also, there was some talk here of the new ES "replacing the IS". But the ES is only FWD, with no option for AWD?

Sorry if these are lame questions.

Normal power distribution is 70% rear, 30% front, with the ability to go up to 50/50 as needed for optimum traction.

Just looked at the G37x specs. Indeed it is 100% RWD, with up to 50%-50% as needed.
No wonder the G felt more like RWD :-).

Correct. If you want affirmation of this, just try driving this car in the snow with TC fully off. It will oversteer...

I agree though, it mostly understeers in the dry.
