Default AWD questions

Hello,

I have couple questions about the AWD version of the IS250. Does anyone know the power/torque distribution of the IS250 AWD? I understand the system is on all the time. Is it 50% to the front and 50% to the rear (50/50)? or similar to the BMW Xdrive, 40/60? or does it rear wheels bias until it senses slippery, then it sends 50% of the power to the front? I can't find any of these information on the Lexus.com site...

Thanks!

It's biased 30/70 under normal conditions and can vary all the way to 50/50 depending upon slippage or throttle position. Or so I've been told.

It's okay. Audi or Subaru (particularly Subaru), it ain't. I moved to my 250 from a '05 Legacy GT, and even though lacking traction control, the GT was as sticky in the snow as the lexus is even when you know the TC/Stability control/general HAL9000 chunks are operating on the Lexus.

I'm hoping that the Toyota people liberally borrow Subaru's AWD experience for the next-gen Lexus systems.

There's nothing in the official documentation that says anything. There's some marketing info that implies the split you describe, but I also have marketing info from Toyota saying the turbos on the MkIV Supra are different sized, and I know for a fact they are not (I've measured them myself.)

So, no one can definitively say.
