AWD Question
Hello! I'v been a lurker on this forum for a while now and this is my first post.
The question is; exactly how is the AWD system on my '08 250IS set up? What is the front-to-back torque split, how can that vary under different driving conditions and what type of system is it? Torsen, clutch, viscous coupling?
Can't seem to find a good reference on this anywhere.
Now that the weather here in NE Ohio is getting weird I thought I'd like to have knowledge of what I could expect.
thanks all

do you have the AWD already or are you in the market for one? I am close to you and RWD is just fine with snow tires. I was next to a FWD that was spinning as we took off from the light and I was gone. lol...FWD sucks!
If you have AWD I am not sure what the front/rear percentage is.

Thanks, guys!
I did some more research and found that Road & Track says that it's 30/70, front/rear in its default mode and can go as far as 50/50 when needed.
So what this tells me is that it "acts" like a rear wheel drive car most of the time.

If you are in the market for AWD, it is the car for you. if you need more power, buy a 350 with snow tires or good all seasons IMO.
