2006 GS430 won't start once new ECU is installed. Help!
Hello guys,
I've been on clublexus for a long time but I was normally on the SC forums. My father has a 2006 GS430 that just started to have an issue when he slows down, it feels as if the car is braking itself. I've read that people have changed their ECU to fix this issue and that it works. I bought a new ECU(same part number) and installed it but the car tries to start but doesn't. I swapped back the old ECU and the car starts. I swap back the new ECU and it doesn't. I'm wondering if the ECU has to be recoded at the dealership. If anyone has any info on this, please let me know! Thanks!
EDIT: Fixed. Read reply

Fixed! Just to respond to this post. I figured out how to reprogram the ECU once a new ECU is installed on a 2006 GS430. When the new ECU is installed, get a paper clip and go to the OBD2 port which is under the steering column and connect terminals TC and CG. Once that is done, turn ignition switch on (IG) and leave it as is for 30 minutes. (All the dash lights will be on) After 30 mins, the car started right up.
