What's the current best way 2 clone or program an ecu 2001 gs430?
Well after 252k miles my ecu has taken a dive so I got a known good replacement however I see conflicting info as to how to get it to work, some say jump pins in the dlc connector others say clone the ecu by desoldering the immobilizer chip and re soldering in in the good used ecu so is there anyone here that can verify the proper procedure?
Ps I'm a tech at Toyota however we just do not work on cars this deep and with that age and mileage so I'm in search of what I need to do it myself.
Thank you

You will more than likely have to reprogram the replacement ecu to your current immobilizer unless you have the interior immobilizer parts you need from your replacement ecu vehicle to swap out to your current.
A locksmith may be of assistance who will program your current key chip to your new replacement ecu. I had to do this to my Lexus and I bought a listing from ebay which I mailed the ecu to them to reprogram for around $175.

How do you know the replacement is known-good?
Seem to remember the '01 can be re-programmed through the ODB-II port. For the effort involved, having Lexus re-program the ECM for your keys might be the "easiest" thing to do.
