I moved this to the 3rd gen GS forum where model specific posts are more likely to get replies.

you are the first I've heard of doing this.

Anyway, check out how to remove the front bumper. I remember vaguely the grill is mount to (if not part of) the bumper. There is a nice DYI thread somewhere that I followed when I removed my bumper. But than mine is a GS430.

goodlucky.

Yes, you need to remove the front bumper because there is a screw on the bottom of the grill that secures the grill to the bumper.

yes there is a DIY for front bumper removal but honestly if your just plastidipping the grille, you dont need to remove it. just tape around it and cover the front with news paper. thats how i did mine and i had no issues. the plastidip peels right off it anything gets on the paint. just make sure you remove it instead of letting it sit on.

^ is the plastidip easily chip/scratch?

I wonder if it's cheaper to plastidip the whole car.

dont be that guy

it does peel bit it takes a bit of effort. the longer its on something, the harder it is to get off. its only meant for small items like tool handles and such. drives me nuts when people do body panels and wheels in it lol.

Looking at Plasti Dip and what it can do now, for the price, does it still drive you nuts? I got a quote for a company near me to do my whole car for $600.00, a wrap was nearly $2,000.00. Just wondering.

I Plasti-Dipped my whole bike and the 3 piece wheels on my Supra....both still look as amazing today as they did the first day. I did the wheels on my bike too...and in white. The only issue I have is when the chain grease gets on it or when i'm getting gas and it drips from the gas nozzle onto the tank. I've since fixed both problems now that Plasti-Dip makes a clear coat. My whole bike only cost me $70 to do and thats with the clear.

Plasti-Dip protects your original paint too btw....

Default Front Grill Plast Dip

I used Plasi Dip for the first time yesterday and it was so easy, I am a very skeptical person even after watching a Bentley get dipped. Took me about 2 hours with taping, dealing with the windy day and spraying to do the front and the back of my car. This was just a test run. Now that I know how easy it is I am going to be using a different color.

and if you dislike the L in the grill but like the factory grill, after dip is dry you cant really even see it.
