Default How to remove grill/grill surround?

I just acquired a black pearl grill surround, and was wondering how hard it is to pull the grill apart. Any specific directions or hidden screws somewhere I need to know about to avoid damage? I would think it isn't all that hard to do... Any advice would help.

everytime i have done mine it was while the bumper was off
if you take all the bolts/clips off the top, i think you'll be able to see where it clips onto the bumper
i don't remember there being any bolts on the bottom holding it in...it was just clips...
the hardest part for me was taking the grill apart from the surround
you'll need a small screwdriver for this
if you wait til the weekend, i'll be getting my bumper/grill/grill surround back and i can take pics for you...

you just gotta
1.take off the cover.
2.undo 1 i think it was 12mm or 10mm screw on the center
3.take off the rubber sealing.. (they tend to break so becareful)
4.Undo clips on the side and the bottom and start pulling out gently..

oh yeah...taking the rubber sealing thingie is tricky...if you use a small needle nose pliers from the bottom and squeeze the clip thingies, it comes right off without breaking anything...

It's a bit of a pain both to remove the grille assembly, as well as trying to separate the grill from the surround. The good news is that it's a lot easier the 2nd time around because the clips are more loose. The bad news is that some of my clips are visibly worn and may break if I keep taking this apart. Doh. So my suggestion is to be very careful.

The strange part is that when I try to pull out the grille assembly, it always feel like I'm going to rip and break the thing, but it's just the resistance from the clips. So you have to pull hard and be careful at the same time, if that makes any sense.. ha ah

DIY: HOW TO REMOVE YOUR GRILL

I've did it fairly quickly so please understand..

1) Remove the cover when you open the hood.. there are 9 of them.. push them in and it will pop out..

2) Remove this 10mm bolt

3)Remove these with flat head or something.. this is on both sides.. one on the left is for the grill+surround and right is to seperate grill from surround..

4)undo the side clips from both sides.. one on the middle is guidance clip so dont worry about that. (when you installing it back just make sure u have that through the hole) Just undo the one from top and bottom..

5) Undo clips from bottom of the grill. i think there are three of them..

AS YOU UNDO IT START PULLING THE GRILL FORWARD
6) once you undo the clips carefully flip the grill like this..
and push those things down with flathead. (you kinda have to get used to it) those are the things holding rubber sealing..

your grills should be free now...

7)to seprate grill from the surround undo these from the bottom

8) and from the top

9) AND YOU ARE DONE

Need more help pm me..

Good Luck
