Default power steering pump making noise while turning the steering wheel

recently had this problem, if you dont notice a leak or not losing fluid, then your pump is good.the fluid in not transfering down to your rack n pinion system.I knew how to fix but did not have time.so I took it to a mechanic who I trusted an works on all of my three toyotas.he removed the pump and cleaned the filter inside the pump (quote; the internals of a power stering pump hardly ever go bad) so its fine now.
