Post Ecu-Aftermarket Options

So I have tons of plans to modify my 1gs including v160/161 swap, motor rebuild, and turbo eventually... I stopped at a local Dyno shop and was recommended a new Aem v2 ecu. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

AEM V2 is a pretty good ecu, you will need quite a good tuner that will spend a lot of time to make an "amazing" tune though.

Megasquirt MS3-X or MS3 pro is cheaper, can be DIY, and also requires a good tuner that will spend a lot of time if you want an "amazing" tune.

Pro EFI is twice as expensive but makes an amazing tune a lot easier to achieve, tons of features. Need verified tuner/install.

Motec M800 is expensive but considered the best. Need verified tuner/install.

HKS Fcon V-Pro gold - On par with AEM V2, released in 2009 however needs to be tuned by a licensed hks tuner.

Pretty much take your pick based on your budget and features.

I want to get into diy tuning set ups, so megasquirt ms3-x or pro would be best, which would you suggest?
