contact transfer with OEM Navi multi media unit 07 es350
ok so i was looking through the contacts and the phone book on my es350 i mean i was adding some stuff to it i never even set it up over the past almost 2 years other than just adding a few phone numbers
when i was looking i saw a option that said transfer contact list or something like that
on the 07 es350 navi unit when going to add contacts
but i am not sure if i can do this i mean does anyone know if it's possible to do this with the Iphone and how to do it ?
it's not allowing me to even find an option on my phone to transfer contacts

As far as I know there is no way to do a mass transfer of contacts over bluetooth from the iPhone. The only way I was able to transfer was by backing up my contacts to gmail or outlook etc. and then using another non-ios phone transferring over to the car.

FWIW, I had no trouble transferring phonebook from iPhone 4s (iOS7) to my 2011 ES350 .... but you may be just referring to 2007 or other years, I don't know. Lexus has compatible car/iPhone list on the website.

did the car do it automaticlay or did you have to go into the general settings on the phone and push send or share or something like that ?

Any nav car 2009 and prior, you can't transfer contacts with an iPhone. The car requires you to push the contacts via bluetooth. The iPhone can't do that. 2010 and up, the nav system was redesigned and can pull contacts from the iPhone without having to push them from the phone. As chbow has suggested, the only way to transfer your contacts is to have them on another type of phone. Pair it up and push contacts via bluetooth while the car is looking for them.

Yes, The car did it. As Off Road said, apparently earlier cars relied on the phone more. Here's an option, but it requires some effort: I also have an '04 LS430, and to get the phonebook onto that, I purchased an old crappy Siemens S56 phone for about $10 on Ebay. I don't use it as a phone, but just as a tool for phonebook maintenance on that vehicle. It loads the whole phonebook. The downside is that you have to manually enter all contacts individually onto that phone once. Once that's done, keep the old phone around and use it for bulk phonebook updates. Another CL member told me about that solution.
