Unhappy ES300 Trunk release button

I was hoping that someone has a fix when the glove box release button fails to open trunk? I cannot seem to figure out why?

I have a 1992 ES300.

The glove box button is not for opening the trunk. It is for disabling the trunk open button next to the gas cap button.

Seriously??!!--I didn't know this either!! All this time I've been racking my brain as to why the Trunk Release [on the door] just stopped working for no reason--figured it was a fuse. But now that Neo has brought it to the forums (before I did) and got an answer, I realize I've got a bunch of stuff jammed in the glove box...

Gonna take a look at it and see what happens.

Not a problem. I had my glove box switch push by accident and did not know. I could not figure why my open trunk switch would not work. I check fuses over and over. I tried to trace the wiring. One day I opened the glove box and saw the switch. Flipped the switch and solved my problem. Of course that was six months later. Glad to help. David

I had the same issue, one day the trunk wouldn't open. I asked my kids why the heck it stopped working and they told me that there is a button inside glove box. Then I knew why it stopped working

Default es300 trunk release button

i pressed this button located in the glove box and my trunk still does not open could it be the switch itself that is broken.
