Default Boot or trunk release buttons

The two boot release buttons on my ES300 2003, on the dash and in the glove box, do not release the boot lid. The remote on my key ring does. I have checked all the fuses and none have blown. Any ideas?

Isn't the one in the glove box a button (more like a switch) that prevents the opener from working?

Yep. It does not release the trunk, it enables the driver's side button to work. It needs to be set where it is depressed (not extended) for the driver's side button to work.
