Cute bugger. LF-SA
Just got this in my email.
I wouldn't venture out to the freeway with one of these but they are undeniably cute. However, there is more downside to owning one of these and I always go back to a basic premise. Would I buy one or have one of my kids in car this small.
No.
This ain't going to be cheap either. Perhaps this is geared more towards the European market where the streets are smaller? To give you an idea when I was in Germany many streets we'd consider one way here are in fact two there!
I'm going to venture and guess for the same price of this vehicle one could buy a Honda accord, Mazda 6, Toyota Hybrid.and so forth. Better safety & about the same gas mileage.
What's your thoughts on Lexus coming out with this?

Yeah, I'm thinking San Francisco. Crazy trying to get a parking space there. Retirement community? I can think of one that is not unlike a military base. Self supported and every kind of store within it's enclave. Speed limit 35 mph

Good post, rxonmymind ......but, from my perspective, I wouldn't call it cute. It's too over-styled.
Judging (roughly) by its size, it looks to me like they started with a Scion iQ and reworked it inside and out.

I kinda see this as the counter to the MB Smart car
Very urban oriented as mentioned by earlier posters
Styling is aligned with the new NX
My guess at pricing would be about $25k (the Smart is also pricey for the small amount of car you get)
Basically a dolled up iQ for the hip urban set

Otherwise, all that engineering time, effort and dollars spent might well have been better put towards???.....

I would not be surprised if they come out with version of this... I just hope they make it Yaris sized - it seems to be based on iQ platform and making it Yaris sized would do wonders for interior space, it would become legitimate 4 person vehicle with decent trunk. iQ has some crazy space saving ideas that made it expensive as a Toyota.
Couple it with newly introduced 1.2l turbo and it would be "pocket rocket" in Europe because it weights so little. Our iQ's had large 1.4l diesels with lots of torque and it was kind of scary how fast it would accelerate at city speeds for such a tiny vehicle.
iQ failings were that nobody actually needed that small of a vehicle for large price and engines were just so-so, interior was almost there for the price, but only almost... making it 1.2l turbo Lexus with proper 4 seats would basically erase all of the main issues.
