Facelifted 2016 Acura RDX Heads to Chicago Auto Show
Acura will join parent company Honda at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show next month with the world premiere of its updated 2016 RDX.
While no pictures have been released yet, the facelift, which comes four years after the launch of the second generation RDX in April of 2012, is said to enhance the compact luxury crossover with styling and performance improvements as well as the introduction of new luxury and safety features.
More specifically, Acura mentioned the following:
"The 2016 RDX artfully blends numerous fresh exterior and interior design elements to further enrich its sport and luxury qualities, all with a cohesiveness that speaks to its new capabilities. Already one of the quickest and most fuel-efficient V6-powered entry-luxury SUVs, the 2016 RDX takes the position a step further, adding important improvements to performance, dynamics, comfort and NVH."
We'll know more at the Chicago auto show that opens its doors on Thursday, February 12.

One of the biggest things the RDX lacked was any sort of updated technology and active safety systems. Over $40K for their AWD Tech trim and no blind spot monitor, dynamic, active cruise, etc. Not very "tech" especially for a supposed Luxury brand. Hopefully these features will be on the refreshed RDX.

The V6 in the RDX already does that. The current V6 version also makes more power and is quicker then the original RDX with the turbo. I think a 4 cylinder turbo would be a step down. I would rather see SHawd as a option for the RDX and a Earth Dreams DI version of the V6 engine it has with more power.

What they heck? The RDX gets a facelift, not a redesign. Since when in auto history do they release a concept car for a facelift? Companies are getting desperate! lol

The RDX is just getting a relatively minor facelift and some added features.

nothing desperate at all. if you hadn't noticed, the rdx sells like crazy anyway, so a bunch of tech and trim upgrades should ensure continued great success.

That is not a RDX concept, it is a concept called the SUV-X for a smaller Acura based off the HRV for the Chinese market to compete against the X1.

This post is a bit confusing. I'd take out the above pink SUV and throw it into a different post with a different title. It's not the freshened RDX, as now pointed out.
