Wheel Resto
I bought some cheap wheels off of craigslist for $50, was planning on using them as my winter set or just some kinda custom wheel till i save up to get way better rims. Wanted to know the best way to go at restoring them since they have corrosion on the lip.
they are alumminum, so should i strip all the paint then repaint it? can i sandblast it or do i have carefully sand it away?

Since they are el cheapo spares I would sand all the corrosion off, scuff the rest of it and hit it with a decent rattle can. Unless you have easy access to a sand blaster. No point in putting much money in **** wheels tho imo. Especially since you plan on getting better ones. Pics would help
this is one wheel after going at it with a paint stipping wheel attatchment for my drill, took forever

Don't look too bad but 16"... Hard to beat $50 tho. Alright since the lips are all jacked I would sand those down with the drill attachment you were using and get a red scotch-brite pad and scuff the rest of the wheel really good then a few coats of rattlecan primer. Sand that til you have a nice surface and finish sanding with about 600 then hit it with a few coats of whatever color you want. Budget wheels BAM! Just my .02 take it for what you will

I might look into powder coating, but yeah, i'll post up pics when im done painting them. would anybody actually suggest rolling on these though once they're done? I mean in my mind the whole universal rim look is a turn off to me and yeah they're only 16" lol
wish i took pics of what i did with the old tires, burned them straight off. it would deffinently be fun to have these as my drift set.

those wheels arent half bad.
Powder coating is the cheapest way to get a wheel redone.
Id probably just use them as is till i got a better set though
EDIT: I ditn realize they were 16x7 ..........fix them up as much as u can yourself (clean and buff, spray paint etc......) and then sell them as is.
you can probably get a few hundred bucks for those cleaned up on honda forum or whatever.

if u wanna polish the lip, jack a rear wheel on your car, mount the rim put in drive and sand that sucker till u get down to like 1500 grit paper, then get some aluminum polish and shine them *****es up, look it up on youtube works great, then u can tape the lip and paint the face after that some clear on the whole thing wont cost that much
Finally got off my lazy *** and finished my wheels
