I am going to be putting on some 20 inch Snowflakes with some Perelli tires, i have the 16 inch stock ones on my car now, i just wanted to know is the ride much diffrent with 20's on them

 

VERY different. coz' of the extreme low profile tires the ride would be much harsher

 

but see in chicago you would be known as baller with dubs on a lex ball so im getting them either way

 

oh don't get me wrong, you SHOULD get at least 19" no matter what. just to let you know the ride quality ahead of time

 

With the 20s and low profile tires, the ride is gonna be alot harsher. But handling and grip wise, youll stick to the ground better. Performance will also be slowed down.

 

THe ride will be a lot harder.....but it's really more than that....your driving habits will more than likely have to change..for instance if you have a lot of pot holes out there in chi-town...you will really want to avoid them. One pot hole at about 60 mph and it's over for you. Remeber that bigger rims have less tire so the impact is a lot harder on the rim. I would do a research on the rims you are looking for to ensure the strongest quality...then do research on good tires to invest in.

More than likely, these "snowflakes" are big, heavy, bling-bling wheels, so the weight is really what kills the performance & ride. They are TANKS, and if you get tired of them could be used to anchor your boat...

With decent rubber, cornering should still improve, however.

 

I am getting tired of the "balla" word and 20" wheels. I think I will just leave my car stock next time so I can be different. Who cares if you have huge chrome wheels and an all gold Gucci watch, more then likely these same people has zero stability, no net worth or even homes.

Nothing wrong with buying 20” wheels or even chrome wheels (yes I like chrome) but at least buy some wheels that have class and style and match the quality of your Lexus. I hate all these “wannabe balla’s” :Yeah I want to act like I am wealthy." If you are wealthy, you won’t have to act or buy things to make people think you’re wealthy.

Look into some good 20” wheels, chrome or not. You can get good JDM 20” wheels in chrome for less then $4000. I can bet your car will ride better with quality 20" wheels, since your worried about the ride so much.

 

Just imagine the profile on the tires. The stock is like what 65 series? and dubs you would go like 30's or 35's? You will feel whats on the road more... Bumpy ride, not going to be smooth. But thats what you sacrafice when you get low profile tires.

 

I suggest, if you can, find someone in your area that already have 20s on their SC...then see if you can go on a test drive or at least a test ride. A lot of the talk about harsh ride with 20s is exaggerated. With the right suspension, the ride is not harsh at all...not as smooth as stock 16/17s, but far from harsh. In fact, I like the way my car drives, rides, and handles much more than I did in its stock form.
