Are you aware that your back tires will be .700 taller than your front ones?

TMitchell I didn't know that. How is that? I had 235/45/17... I only went 20mm wider. Let me know the LAWS of tire measurement........hehehe.

I'm for real thou let me know what you mean.

http://www.secret-secret.com/turbo/D...turbotire.html
You can use the above site to put in different tire sizes and compare them to your stock tires. 265/40/17 is the same dia. as
235/45/17 and 255/40/17 is .300 shorter than 235/45/17. I am sure there are experts on this forum that can tell you if running 235/45/17 front and 255/45/17 ( .700 taller) rear, will adversely affect your ABS and/or VSC system.

And let me tell you in both 245's I ran above, you could barely squeeze a Quarter between the tire and the suspension components on the GS!!! So although a 245 is THE MAX you can put up front, ...
TX, I'm trying to decide between 245/45/17 or 245/40/17 all around on stock rims. How are the 245/40s? Any strong pros/cons? Which brand are they?
Thanks.

The 245/40/17s will be approx. .600 shorter: the 245/45/17s will be approx. .350 taller than the stock 235/45/17" tires. The 245/45/17s would be the most logical choice between the two.

I agree 100%! And of course Toyo Proxes T1-S or Nitto NT555 if you're on a budget!

TX I'm a bit puzzled by your response.
Your latest reply seems to indicate that you prefer 245/45/17, yet you yourself said you use 245/40/17. One can only infer that you are unhappy with the 245/40's you chose. Can I ask why?

In my above statement where I said that I was "back to my factory wheels while I was waiting for my 19's" I misatakenly said 245/40/17 when I should have said 245/45/17! The only time I ran 40's was with my previous 18's. At any rate go with 245/45/17. They will fill in the wheel well better and give a little more cushion!
