Default Compressors questions..

What up guys.. I have a question I hope yall can help me with.. So I am now running one compressor for my air suspension, and this sucker usually takes about 6-7 min. to fill the tank and then shut off. Now, I noticed its taking longer than that.. This could indicate a leak.. I dont know for sure how much longer because I am raising my car, as I am scared that the pressure switch may not be working and the tank will explode No seriously I dont know whats going on.. For now Im only going from work and back which is like a 10 min commute, so I am not putting that much stress on the compressor. I guess my real question is, how can I troubleshoot the pressure switch? Disregard the fact that I may have a leak, is there a method to test the pressure switch? I am running the relay by the way.. The switch has 2 connectors, one comes from the acc, and the other one comes from the relay.. When I unplug either one, the compressor turns of.. I could just let the compressor do its thing and see what happens, but like I said Im scared! Thanks for any help

you can Check for power at the pressure switch if the compressors don't turn on. Probe the wiring with a test light. If it lights up, you have power and the pressure switch isn't your problem. If it doesn't, then you need to replace the pressure switch.
Probe the power wire going from the relay to the compressor using the test light. It should light up when the pressure switch is powered. If it doesn't, then replace the relay.

Often if the pressure switch isn't working, the air supply isn't being filled,.

Thanks for the reply man, but my question is..Is there any way for the pressure switch to be faulty and not detect the pressure? My compressor is getting power, its just not turning off.. Im afraid it will continue to feed air to the tank, even when the tank is filled up??!

yes it is possible and it could even be the relay-it could be stuck, this is what my buddy told me who owns a shop that does nothing but air ride and hydrolics-he is going to do some more thinking and talk to his other worker to get me a better answer for you.

Thanks for the reply man, Today I completely emptied the air and started the car. Surprisingly the compressor stopped in its normal time.. Could it be the cold weather??? It was around 52 in the last couple of days and today its like 70 degrees outside.. Im hoping thats it. Thanks man.

You can always add a pressure gauge to monitor the tank.

yeah if you dont have a gauge get one, i dont think you should install air ride with out it. Did you ever check for leaks?

cold weather , low voltage , lots of variable to make it take longer.
Drop a little compressor oil in the intake and see if it speeds up .
Do you have a water trap?
Only way to test the sender is to get a pressure gauge connected to your tank , you added a tire valve to yours , right ?
