Since when is sporting knock off kit cool? We get a knock off shine kit meet now?? Seriously? knock off is knock off, doesnt really matter the fitment... it's easy to copy a design and make small changes to make it "fit" better. I believe in paying for the design. I'm really tired of people giving them free advertisement for being a company that copies, other companies here actually pay for sponsor fees to advertise their product. What's this forum come to?

Both of these guys have helped me out before my purchase and, more importantly, after the purchase as well.

I have done quite a bit of research and comparison and their products are good but not perfect but the original isn't perfect either. My replica has the same issues as the original but the savings, durability/flexibility, and great customer service made me more than satisfied with my purchase.
Im sure this Ken guy went to extreme length to explain how they made a copy mold of other peoples product made small improvements and sell it for profit. Fact is their kit might fit better because that's really all they have to do, steal other companies design and improve is a LITTLE, like you said, you still have issues with your kit.. IMO they should be perfect because that's really all they have to do.

Exactly lol. Shouldn't the 'real' parts have great fitment already, especially for the price you're paying to get it shipped to you and such.

Heck, I got a Miata that had a Garage Vary lip replica. It was the Touge Style lip. Reason I got that 'cause it was much much much more durable than the GV lol.

So I talked to Ken today at Shine Auto. Sent him the pictures of the horrible fitment, he ended up refunding my money no questions asked.

It looks like an ugly ducking came out of their batch, and by luck, I received it.

Even though I was disappointed with the product, I am very satisfied and impressed with the way they handle business. I know I said I wouldn't buy anything from them again, but by the way things turned out, I would definitely consider buying their product again.

**** happens, and they way they handled the situation was nothing short of excellent.

I am surprised that this thread is even still going on here and ClearP, I think you are taking this issue very personally.

Well, you have to realistic set expectations for aftermarket fiberglass parts. I don't care who makes it or what they claim but aftermarket fiberglass parts will always have inherent, albeit minor, issues unlike OEM urethane parts.

I have documented every issue with it during the build of my car objectively without any bias here.

I am glad you got your issues resolved. For an aero kit company, that is almost unheard of. The other local companies would not even know about the products they carry, much less taking a loss in taking their product back due to fitment issues.,

x2 I really judge a product a whole lot based on value. For $2000-8000 for an aero kit, I would expect both the fit and finish to be like OEM urethane, ready to paint. If some company, in this case Shine Auto Project, can offer the same kit for less and meets or exceeds the quality of the original, it is a no brainer for me to go with the Shine Auto Project one. I am more than satisfied with my purchase and proud to tell me people about it. To each his own.

it is very easy to provide good, or what i would call adequate in these instances, customer service when you are not halfway around the globe. it is also very easy and a no-brainer to refund 100% of the money when you have $0 invested in research & development and you are selling a cheaply made product with a large markup. at the end of the day, refunding the money and losing $25, or less, cost on a spoiler is better than losing a customer that will more than likely buy your crap again.

also, it is very easy for a manufacturer or company that sells directly to the public to offer such a refund because of their low cost and high profit margin. it is extremely difficult for a dealer to refund 100% because they have already paid for the product out of pocket and are making much much less than a manufacturer dealing to the public would, of course.

this is basic business.

Like I said, it's easy to copy a product and better it a little, it doesn't justify the fact that they copy other people's product, rename it and improve on a little fitment and call it their own. The company that made these products spends month, if not years designing a kit, all Shine has to do is spend less than a month on fitment, and you guys are repping for them, bashing on the orignal company, saying it's their fault they didn't make it fit perfect for you princesses, does that sound fair?

I do take it a little personal because I want companies to make new kit and new stuff for the community. Companies like Shine and Raceon are not allowing other companies to deem this profitable. It is a big problem whether you like to agree with it or not. Who in their right mind would want to spend so much time and effort on a product only to be copied a few month later when it becomes popular? And have people repping for the company that copies?

I don't care that people are sporting replicas, however it does bother me that people are on a thread that specifically talks about not to buy from (support) replica companies, repping for the company that copies many other manufactures products! If it makes you feel better that you bought a replica kit for less and it fits better than the original company that came up with the design and you feel it's right to talk crap about them, then yes to each his own.

You're talking like these two companies both came up with this design, news flash, one didnt.

I'll never buy another replica for any car I'm building into a clean DD or show car.

For my drift car on the other hand, why not? I'm going to smash the **** out of it anyways.
