Arrow Help w/ Tire Sizing for modurate VIP stretch look.

I have 20 inch HRE wheels. 20in x 8in (front) and 20in x 10in (rear). I am looking for a VIP look and want the tires to look a little stretched but not tooo crazy. I went to a local rim and tire dealer and they said to run 225/35/20's up front and 255/35/20's in the rear. What do you guys think?

my friend ran 245/35-20 it might be too crazy for what you are looking for..so 255 should be good also

Stretched tires are not always needed when trying to achieve VIPstyle. This is only done when extra clearance is needed to fit an aggressive wheels fitment. It is not really advisable for normal wheel fitment as this will cause a bigger gap between the wheel and fender.

Cool!

225 on a 20x8 will be very mild, depending on the tire brand. 255 on a 20x10 will be a good mild stretch, also depending on the tire brand.

225 on a 8" is pretty mild. I have 225 on my 9" up front.

I'm sorry I don't. My obsolete Canon Powershot broke right before I put on the tires. But the stretch is pretty close to what AnotherLS posted.

You are sure they are 8" and not 8.5" right? I was thinking if it was 8" and you wanted a bit of a stretch, that maybe a 215 would be good, BUT I searched TireRack and couldn't find 215/35/20 or 215/25/20 or anything. I don't think those specs exist. If you do have a 8" in front, 225 is the narrowest you can go I believe. You said you want to go with the VIP look, but an 8" front with a stretched tire, I agree with V8Aristo that it wouldn't look too good. The whole point of the VIP look is to have wheels that stick out very close to the fender and be flush. That will be hard to achieve with 8" wide wheels in front. Maybe you should go 235/35 up front and 275/30 in the rear. What are your offsets anyways? You mentioned running spacers... You may want to ask around to see which members are using them. I spoke with one member in the past and he was using spacers with the extended wheel studs and was not too comfortable using them. They vary in thickness from as little as 3mm (for caliper clearance) to 25mm (I think H&R). I am sure there is a limit before it becomes potentially dangerous.

the tires looks good but now to get the VIP look, you may need spacers to punch out the wheel lip to the fenders. i would try to get the offsets to +25 to +30.

try a 5-10 mm spacer up front and maybe the same for the rear. your HREs looks like they were made so no fender mods were needed. if i had to guess, you fronts are +30 and your rears are +40 or +41.

good luck.
