The UX250H has a function in the TPWS section "Change Wheel Set" can any forum member confirm that the UX can learn the ID codes of new tpms sensors without having to have the new ID codes programmed into the vehicle.

Thanks in advance
Did you ever find out the answer to your question? I'm shopping for a set of winter tires and am trying to decide if I want to bother with a second TPMS set. What sensors did you buy?

Thanks, I understand that this system is not ABS based and requires a sensor inside the wheel. What I'm curious about is:
Will I need to visit the dealer to get the car to learn a new set of sensors
If the car can save 2 sets of sensor ID's so that if I purchase an additional set of sensors for my winters, whether I can "set and forget" regarding two sets of sensors.
Whether anyone has tested any third party sensors and have found success, and if so, which.

1) Any tire shop can pair the sensor to the vehicle.
2) There may be a button under the dash that has 2nd set or main set. I don't have my UX anymore to check.
3) I haven't tried any 3rd party sensors since rockauto has the Denso sensors for about the same price.
