Anyone else finding the Turanza 450 RFs to perform poorly in light snow? Recently my wife has had a couple of bad experiences but she's been spoiled, I put Michelins or Contis on all of her previous Priuses which performed really well.

 

They're horrible. Replaced them with Bridgestone WeatherPeak and never looked back.

 

They're hockey pucks, plain and simple.

Ditched them and ran Michelin Cross Climate 2s, as Nick said above - also never looked back.

 

Thanks to both of you. I'm considering Mich Defender 2, I'd do the CrossClimates but I don't really want directional tires. How are yours holding up with only front to back rotations?

 

Ive rotated mine every 5k and they look nearly brand new, 3 years and 15k miles later. Fantastic in Chicago winters and other climates.

 

Hmm. No weird treadwear due to the lack of cross-rotation? If that's the case, I'd probably go for the CC2s.

 

None whatsoever, no camber/toe alignment issues of any kind. Car drives straight and true. I swear by the CC2s, so much I put them on my other daily vehicles as well.

 

That's great news, thanks. They're my first choice for her car, the Def2s were a close second.

 

Follow up - for a variety of reasons I wound up getting the Defender 2. They're great tires and my wife already feels more confident with them after going through some weather.
