LOL! Yeah. Had Buicks, and Pontiac and many more. The TX is neither. More like a Caddy, but less flashy. My wife has dubbed mine "The Phantom" (TX500h SPL) because its nearly silent, agile and very quick for a big SUV, fully loaded or just the driver. And when I WANT excitement, I just hop in my 2 seater kevlar bodied twin turbocharged V8 flat plane crank supercar and just punch it. But the TX ... its all about low key comfort and practical capability. I often make the LA to Vegas run with friends and its effortless. In the TTV8 I'm exhausted when I get there. It all depends on what you want. Sure is nice when you have a family.
I have a 26 TX and mine has both the flutter and the flapping. The physical movement at the latches was adjusted at the dealer twice. It is mostly better, but it still moves at highway speeds occasionally. The flutter of the panel itself separate from the edge has not gone away. I don't think there is a fix for that. I think that is a design challenge with the hood. I was told by the dealer to also close the hood pressing where both latches are.
I made adjustments to all the hood stops, most suggest the front 2 with the springs. But upon inspection I found total of 8 hood stoppers that come in contact with the hood. Each hood stopper has a contact point on the actual hood where there is a clear circular vinyl stuck to the hood where the hood stoppers would hit. I had slight flutter at speed but wasn’t terrible. I applied some cleaner wax on each stopper to see what actually made contact with the hood, 5 out of the 8 stoppers made contact. I adjusted the rest by turning counter clockwise to raise it until the cleaner wax was on the hood when closed, which indicated it made contact. After testing it on highway, this has pretty much eliminated the issue. Easy way to do it at home than going to the dealership and waste more time.
