Couldn't agree more. This is Lexus #9 between my wife and and things have certainly changed over the years.

My wife has dubbed mine "The Phantom" (TX500h SPL) because its nearly silent, agile and very quick for a big SUV, fully loaded or just the driver. And when I WANT excitement, I just hop in my 2 seater kevlar bodied twin turbocharged V8 flat plane crank supercar and just punch it. But the TX ... its all about low key comfort and practical capability. I often make the LA to Vegas run with friends and its effortless. In the TTV8 I'm exhausted when I get there. It all depends on what you want. Sure is nice when you have a family.

I have a 26 TX and mine has both the flutter and the flapping. The physical movement at the latches was adjusted at the dealer twice. It is mostly better, but it still moves at highway speeds occasionally. The flutter of the panel itself separate from the edge has not gone away. I don't think there is a fix for that. I think that is a design challenge with the hood. I was told by the dealer to also close the hood pressing where both latches are.

This worked for me.

I made adjustments to all the hood stops, most suggest the front 2 with the springs. But upon inspection I found total of 8 hood stoppers that come in contact with the hood. Each hood stopper has a contact point on the actual hood where there is a clear circular vinyl stuck to the hood where the hood stoppers would hit. I had slight flutter at speed but wasn’t terrible. I applied some cleaner wax on each stopper to see what actually made contact with the hood, 5 out of the 8 stoppers made contact. I adjusted the rest by turning counter clockwise to raise it until the cleaner wax was on the hood when closed, which indicated it made contact. After testing it on highway, this has pretty much eliminated the issue. Easy way to do it at home than going to the dealership and waste more time.

This is what the dealer should be doing but probably is not in most cases.

While my 2025 TX 550h+ (July 2025 build) has spring loaded stops mounted to the car that push up against the hood when it is closed, these stops are not adjustable. While they can be turned, this does nothing. Mounted to the underside of the hood on each side, are two strikers that catch on the latches on each side. There is also a main striker in the middle.

This is one of two strikers on each side. I think it can move on the one side and the other being spring loaded can be adjusted to raise and lower this a bit.

Thius is one of thew two spring stops that push up on the hood. Everyone seems to say they can turn and adjust the height of thse. But mine do not adjust when turned. I measured the height and even dozens of turns did nothing.

This is the main striker in the middle of the hood.

I recently had the TX in the shop for something else, and brought up that the hood stuck up a bit form the body. The tech said, "oh, we'll just need to turn those round things to adjust". When I later picked up the car he said, he was surprised to find those round things are different than other Lexus models and they did not adjust.

Possibly Lexus made a change and not all TX years and models do it the same way.

Anyway, just thought I'd show how my TX hood latches
