Default Dashboard squeak

I have a Lexus TX 350 with the bells and whistles. I recently noticed a squeak coming from the dashboard area, which is especially noticeable when driving over bumps at relatively low speed. Anyone else have this issue?

I don't have that squeak, but my driver's seat has developed a squeak.

We had this happen as well. It was the infotainment system monitor rubbing against the dashboard in our case. I put a piece of black felt tape (the other half of Velcro tape) under the screen where it sits on the dashboard and the niose went away. If you push the tape back far enough before pressing it down you shouldn't see the tape.

The yellow circle shows the location where I placed the tape.

This is a close up showing the tape.

Just thinking about spending over 60K on a vehicle and then having to add a tape !

many of the 6 Audis I owned which were more expensive than a TX had felt tape applied in more than one spot to quiet squeaks and creaks. It’s more or less standard operating procedure in the automotive industry.

I am bringing in the car for an oil change early next week and going to have them look at this dashboard noise issue. I will update everyone here when I have more info from the dealer. I bet they take the screen off and put some felt behind it similar to what has been done here (maybe more hidden).

can confirm, they took apart some of the dash and added "foam tape" underneath the bottom left of the screen where it meets the silver painted trim. I will post a photo when I have a chance. not the best looking solution but it does the job and is better than constantly listening to this squeak which was driving me nuts. it literally was squeaking non stop and turning up the radio wasn't going to cut it...

car has been dead silent since the foam tape was added.

I’m glad I found this old thread. Our 2025 TX just developed this squeak after 2000 miles. We isolated it to the infotainment screen. I’ll see if I can add felt tape or foam tape myself. I don’t really like the dealership we bought it from.

My friends that have spent over $300K on Porsches have done the same thing.....there is no perfect car.......good solution of using the velcro tape......car dealers do it all the time when squeaks occur.....luckily it works most of the time....
