Default fuel door alignment

anyone else notice the fuel door body gap and how flush it sits to the adjacent quarter panel is pretty off compared to the rest of the exterior fit and finish of the car? I just reached out to my service advisor and waiting to hear back with what they say. pics below.

Mine doesn't have this issue. I think it should be fixed or replaced.

I can admit more than once I have pulled into the gas station and tried pushing on the door to open it in the way my Audi would work, but I have not forcefully tried opening it as I know that would be a total mistake. to be honest, I never really understood why a lot of japanese car manufacturers put a fuel door release button in. my Audi had a mechanism that would lock the door shut when the exterior doors were locked and that seemed pretty smart to me...

Hello TX owners! I am coming from the current gen RX group. The current gen RX is also having this gas door alignment issue, thread here. Yes I've had my local Lexus dealership (Bellevue, WA) look at it. They came back saying, its part of the aero design. At times after filing up the fuel door aligns. Others claim that their local Lexus dealer replaced the door but seems thats not the problem. In short, goodluck having your local Lexus dealership to deal with it and most likely wont solve any issue.

just had my 5,000 mile service today and they checked this out. said it was consistent with 3 other TX fuel doors on the lot. no issues found. I guess that is just how it is...

My TX is flushed and seems normal. Have you ever gotten this issue resolved? Hope you do.

Not normal to me. That looks really bad.

Surprised this was not noticed at time of purchase.

I would escalate to Lexus to resolve.

It is hit or miss. Lately it has seemed to get better. It’s a car not a museum piece. I have 8200 miles since January.

im too busy driving it to worry about the damn fuel door…

that's ridiculous! Toyota/lexus needs to move production to Japan.

there are massive economic consequences to not producing cars in north america. the overall quality of these vehicles is still top notch.
