I just contacted the dealer to see about getting the cam installed when they did some other work, and they quoted me $900 ($450 for the cam, same for install.)
Seems a big pricy, considering the camera is under $300 and, from the looks of your post, not all that difficult an install.
Any tips you could provide for the rest of us who might want to copy you and do it ourselves?

yep especially any tips to pull out the panel without breaking it . It’s so new its delicate
I installed the OEM Lexus Dashcam. Installation was very easy. I was going to connect to via the digital mirror utilizing a wire harness, but I found an open connector above the interior lights.
Hey I just purchased this cam. Did you need any other wire harness to connect? Or, just the one white one to the free plug?
I just put in a FITCAMX. I took the oem one out because I wanted a uniform window tint strip and also a front plus rear channel camera.
the factory dash cam is wired into a harness with a connector next to the dome light in the headliner and is easily accessed by gently popping the 4 clips that hold the dome light assembly into the roof. There is one harness that attaches to the dome light assembly.
I personally spliced into the factory harness in the headliner to install my new dashcam. This allows me to get battery positive, accessory, and ground to the new camera so it functions the same with a parking mode. FITCAMX gives you a plug and play harness that taps off the adaptive cruise camera but it won’t give you parking mode because that camera is only powered when the ignition is on.
pics for reference. I can walk anyone through this who wants help. Feel free to shoot me a PM…

fyi I have an oem lexus dash cam I would sell to anyone who is interested. Not here to make dealer markups but would consider a reasonable offer. Let me know.
How DIY friendly is this? This looks like the best option - best quality camera, with the most OEM look, because the current Lexus one is 4K quality but it looks goofy and not integrated.
I'm worried about the rear camera install... anyone have a guide?

To get to the rear of the car you can EASILY tuck wires into gaps between headliner. The hardest part, by far, was making it look "clean" by using OEM grommets from headliner into trunk door. If you're willing to make sacrifieces there, its super easy. If you're not willing, it could take an hour--or two--depending on your level of comfort of fishing wires and prying trim.
Has anyone tried to install a dash cam through the rearview mirror? We attempted to do so but the cover is on pretty tight and we don't want to break it. We tried looking a tutorials from other cars ( the 2023 GX and RX) but the cover for this one seems different.
So far so good for the front and back. The most difficult part as someone mentioned was having the rear camera wire go through the OEM grommet. But mission accomplished with a little patience. Looks great and pretty simple to install.

Reviving an old topic. But how did you splice the Fitcamx to use the existing roof console open harness that was originally for the OEM camera? Which rear famera did you end up getting? Thanks!

i bought the one for the TX. I spliced in before the OEM connector by splitting the wire insulation and soldering it. I paired it with a rear fitcam option which plugged right into the fron fitcam so it was seamless. Would take pics but i now drive a BMW where the 360 parking camera has a built in drive recorder which is pretty slick
Hello everyone.
First time posting on this forum as I am coming from RX. Which is a good fuse to tap into to install front camera? Which is responsible for power outlets?
