I'm two weeks into the "2 - 4 week" backorder on the amp. I took my TX500h in for the TSB and an oil change two weeks ago. I'd advised them on the TSB a week before I took the truck in, but they didn't bother to place the order for the amp then. They waited until I actually took the TX in. Not happy with that.
I'm 4 weeks into waiting on mine. Per my advisor when I took it in last month, they had to wait for the car to be there to request the replacement as they had to pull the serial number off the existing one first to start the replacement request.
Still no word on when a replacement will be available. I'm the first TX on the replacement list for my dealership so there are plenty of others waiting after me.
@Excitable Boy@jhosche did either of you take the loaner they offered while they procure the replacement amp? I told them I didn't want an Rx for a loaner as it was to small to accommodate the family. They made no effort to accommodate. Curious if you guys got offered a loaner and took it?

I was offered a loaner, even with it being many weeks but had activities this summer where I needed to have the size of my TX in a vehicle, so I declined it. They put my car back together, gave it back to me
To check:In the Main Multimedia system, go to Settings >
Software Update > model info > scroll down to AP SW section > note "Parts no." and "Version"
New amp software version is 1400 and new part no. is 86280-0E331
thank you. Bought mine 500h end of June. Just checked, it does have the new part and FW. I’m still feeling a bit disappointed by the ML sound comparing with Bowers & Wilkins in a Volvo I test drove previously.

I just dropped mine off for the 5k service, and the service rep said they ordered the amp. They said 1 week, maybe a little longer to get it. I wasn't offered a loaner - I'll pick up my TX and they will schedule a new appointment once the amp arrives. Not sure why I'd want a loaner for 1-2 weeks anyway.
Just got my 500h back after the new amp install, took about 7 hours from drop off to picking up my vehicle and the sound system now sounds significantly better! Fuller, deeper bass that is noticeable at lower volumes. Is it the best sounds system in the world? NO. Is it SIGNIFICANTLY better? YES! Would absolutely recommend whoever is on the fence about taking it in for this service to do so. Good luck everyone!
Has anyone with version < 1400 been denied an upgrade? I just took mine in with Version 1201 / Model 86280 / 0E330 and they indicated the technician was unable to reproduce the problem and it is comparable to other TXs. They claimed they are "doing more tests" but no idea what that means.

Sorry you have to deal with this. Your service advisor is gaslighting you. Any amp that has the earlier firmware has been proven to be objectively bad and does not conform to industry standards. That is why Lexus released a counter measured amplifier with proper tuning of the DSP and a formal TSB to fix it.
I would immediately escalate this case to your service manager and express your dissatisfaction. I would even involve the dealership owner and/or Lexus corporate if you need to. I would also consider moving your service to a different dealer if they are unwilling to help you with a known problem with a TSB fix.
That is exactly what I was looking for, thank you for that response! I was informed this was escalated to the shop manager by the service director so we'll see what they come back with tomorrow.

I wasn't offered a long term loaner for this TSB.
I did finally get a text today from my service advisor. The replacement amp is in and I'm scheduled to get it installed on Thursday. I'll let y'all know how it goes!
Woah, it took seven hours to install the new amp? I was under the impression it was significantly less, but I guess I never directly asked.. good to know.

The actual install only takes 15-30 min. The amp is easily accessible adjacent to the spare tire. They do need to disconnect the battery, hook it back up and test the functionality once completed.
