taking apart 3 piece rims
#3
I believe you can take apart the center away from the inner & outer rims. But the inner & outer rims are seal, so if you need to separate the inner and outer rims......either let Zauber do it or find a very good wheel shop who knows how to do it. We have couple good wheel shops here in East Los Angeles area.

That can be extremely dangerous. They assemblied under controlled quality controled conditions. I would not attempt it. You risk something going very wrong when you are driving.

SC,
For those small damages you got from tire installation, you do not need to separate the 3 piece to fix them.
I had my RH 3 piece fixed w/o taking them apart. They just need to polish out those scratches on the outer rims, you may lose some fatory clear coat but it won't be noticeable.

thanks everyone for their replies. it looks like i'm going to have to fight for my new rim. I don't want them half a$$-ing to fix the rim. I would prefer to do it the right way by taking it apart, and clear coat the fixed area. This isn't my problem, but theirs.
Does anyone know of any sites or places where they specifically state that it's dangerous or where it says that it's recommended that the factory does the seal? anyone?

2 wheel shops said it can be done but they didn't want to. I guess there is a high chance to not hold the seal again and the factory does it the best. If i crack a wheel i will pull mine apart....... i'm so curious!
