Requesting Help Identifying a Clinking Sound
I own a 2013 Lexus GS 350 with abut 120k miles. Recently I noticed the car would start to make a weird noise when i would turn right. Now i've heard bad CV joints before, and this doesn't sound like that.
This sound more like links moving, as if some kind of gear is moving. I would describe it more as a clinking sound. I removed my front wheel to see if there was any obvious areas of concern, but I didn't see anything except for what appeared to be grease coming from the sway bar link (lower).
While I had the wheel off, I started the car and turned the wheel. Of course i couldn't duplicate the sound or pinpoint where it was coming from. I also noticed that the control arm? (lower) bushings are slightly cracked and dry. I'm wondering if some seal somewhere is loose broken, and causing a part to shift at times which is producing this clinking type of sound.
Anyone ever have any similar issues? I am out of my warranty, and would like an idea of what could be the issue before i take it to a mechanic and get it looked at. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I DID not properly check for a bad wheel bearing by pushing/pulling on the wheel in both 6/12 and 3/9 positions as I've seen some do in their videos. I am going through the forum now to familiarize myself with the parts and bushings that probably all need to be changed.
Thanks
Sound can be heard at the 54 second mark. and again shortly after the turning signal is heard.
