just sold my 2GS and am currently picking up a 3GS sometime this week. I'm considering lowering the 3GS but I do not want to sacrifice comfort for style. Just wondering if there was any springs/coilover setups that would maintain the 3GS's ride comfort or if there was a set that has a good balance between the two. would appreciate anyone's input

I think the Tanabe are really good......that is what I have right now and I love the look and the ride is nice as well

yep. the Tanabe NF's are basically no change to the ride of the 3GS. i never had the DF's but im sure they are a bit harsher ride. i had the NF's before and now have the Tein CST coilovers. i am extremely happy with the coilovers. they provide a good drop to the car and still have a decent and comfortable ride in comparison to springs. unfortunately they are approx 8-10 times the cost.....minimum. could be a lot more if you go for the really high-end products.

i have tein cst all the way at the bottom and my ride is still pretty darn good with 20s.

imho, get tanabe springs only if you plan on having a mild drop. it doesn't make sense to get coilovers and only have a mild drop. but if you want anything more than a mild drop, then coilovers is the way to go. note that most guys here with coilovers are either slammed or tucked (ie no gaps between fender and tire)

You should go for Tanabe NF210's if you're on a budget or you can get Tein CST like everyone else is suggesting

Wow im surprised that no one has gone with JIC's. Well i just picked up a set and im hoping to have them in by next week and will do some road testing.

jic is good but definitely not on the budget side, it's pretty pricey. i am sure the performance is good though, that's what they are known for

Ditto on the Tein CST coilever...I also have them all the way dropped (with 20's) and the ride is still smooth. It's really worth the extra coin.

i have 19's with the NF210's, slight difference in stock, but well worth it.

whats with the mild drops here slam it down!!! lol...Tein CST are nice but the drop is mild so I wouldn't spent the money and not have my car lower then I could with springs. I am very pleased with the ride and handling with my springs. HKS makes good springs for the GS with a nice aggressive drop for the 2GS not sure if they do for the 3GS or not. I would look to see. Besides you have the best roads in CA and weather to allow you to slam it

I am on Tanabe DF springs and the drop is perfect (~2") and so is the ride. Its not harsh at all.

how much comfort did you sacrifice?

I have them on my 08 GS 460 and I love them!!
