Default GS plus suspension mods = 5 series?

I know many people who have chosen BMW over Lexus due to the more sporty stock ride.

Are there some decent suspension mods (springs/shocks/rear sway) that would put handling on par with a 5 series?

I like a sporty ride but I also want Japanese reliability!

Of course, Look at the Mods thread. There's about 3 of us that have that have swap out the springs. Very Sporty

Hmm, shocks/springs are available, but haven't seen any sway items yet. Even with these items, you have to give credit to BMW, it still might be tough to match the 5 in terms of handing.

A GS will never be a 5.....it's too early for it to even try, right now.

With the 2GS, yes, it could handle and outhandle a BMW but I STILL hated the steering, even with the L-tuned ECU. Of course when u mod a BMW, well, then, I don't know, edge back to BMW I would assume.

The 3GS steering is much better stock than the 2GS but not E39 like. Funny but the E60 steering, too much electronics for me, to be a BMW. But it still feels better, especially at low speeds.

The GS needs SWAY bars next, that will limit the body roll. Thing is with the VDIM, you can not really explore the full outer limits of the car, it will EVENTUALLY kick in. The BMWs can be turned OFF.

I have a E46 (3 series) with coilovers and upgraded sway bars. The thing handles like it is on rails. I noticed that the front wheels have a lot of "Lean" when you turn the wheel. it looks weird, not sure if all cars are like that, but I thought it may have to do with the superb handling. Also 50/50 weight dist.

sways are definately important.

on my Acura TL Type S, sway bars did a lot more for handling than springs/shocks did

The 3GS is still too new, and I don't believe there are many aftermarket mods available yet. There are a couple sets of springs available, but I think that is about it.

Not interested in spinks
I don't want the ride any stiffer. I just don't like the body lean through corners.

Costanza what do you think the springs do Spring's make the car 10x better, especially cornering. I get stop at least once a day asking why mine looks more aggressive than other ones they see
