Pop/Clunk Sound In Reverse
Hey so I have a 2007 Lexus IS350 RWD with 135k miles, just recently I noticed when I reverse and move just a bit whether I'm turning or just reversing straight there's this pretty loud pop sound that come from the bottom of the car. I picked the car up checked out the suspension and everything looks fine. What can this be maybe the brakes? I replaced them about 6 months ago with after market pads rotors and pins from NAPA Auto Parts. Remember the pop only happens when I start to move not when I shift to reverse, it only happens in reverse and not on drive which is weird. Any ideas let me know thanks!
I also get a loud clicking noise when backing up in reverse and occasionally when i accelerate. Done lots of brake pad changes and it still makes noise. its probably coming from the drive shaft or differential.
Haha long time but finally solved the issue!! Last night I replaced my rear pads and rotors, turns out one of the screw on the bracket where the pads sit was loose and bottom caliper pin was seized. tightened it up grind all rust from pin lubricated it nicely replaced pads and rotors and sound gone! So if you do have this issue I’d recommend to open the rear brakes and have a look for any loose screws/ seized pins hope this helped
