Gonna be doing brakes on my car in the next few weeks, upgrading to the LS400 calipers in the process and will be flushing the whole system. I'm wondering if anyone has used Bosch ESI6-32N Brake Fluid. It claims to be DOT3, 4 and 5.1 compatible which is a little weird to me but the boiling points are very impressive. I mainly just want to make sure its not going react badly with anything in the system.
Here is the info for the product: https://www.boschautoparts.com/docum...0-91edb62866a3
Also from what i understand about 1qt of liquid is whats needed to flush the system right?
I haven't used it myself but I just looked it up and browsed several reviews and it seems to get high marks. It's not a brake fluid that's ideal for track use like Motul RBF600 but for street applications this Bosch type seems perfectly good.
DOT3, DOT4 and DOT5.1 are all compatible with one another so there should be no bad reaction in your braking system. Just avoid any *DOT5* brake fluid which is silicon based.
I don't know the full fluid capacity offhand but this is the TSRM page on how to do it in an SC. I suspect that there will be just a bit more fluid volume than stock required with the 95-00 LS400 front calipers.
honestly i thought about buying that stuff but if i go dot4, id rather get motul. The bosch stuff at least says its a direct dot 3 replacement.
And yes i am aware that dot 4 is supposed to be completely compatible with dot 3 systems but ive read some stuff about some checmicals in the dot 4 stuff causing seals to fail. I have no intention of tracking the car, just want something that has a higher boiling point than the bare minimum
