Default Remove Plastic Shield under Wipers

Hello all. After some heavy rain, I had a leak into the cabin when I pulled out of the driveway (on the passenger side). It seemed to be coming from somewhere behind the glove box by the door. I figured maybe some kind of drain was clogged. When I looked around, I noticed a bunch of white fluffy stuff in the vent under the wipers. Apparently some sort of critter got in there and started pulling something for nesting (bastard). If there is a clog somewhere, it's probably some of that. Has anyone taken that piece off? All I noticed were 2 plastic screws at either end. But it does look like a bunch of other things may be in the way (like the wipers). Any help would be appreciated before I start pulling things.

Thanks. Paul.
